Northern Powergrid Metering Ltd is part of the Berkshire Hathaway Energy Group, providing asset finance services in relation to Utility Metering. Being part of the Berkshire Hathaway family enables us to offer innovative and alterative finance solutions to traditional asset finance models.
Operating in the UK since market de-regulation we have the skills and experience in working with energy suppliers to deliver cost effective finance solutions, refined to each customer’s needs.
Currently Northern Powergrid Metering manages approximately 5 million metering related assets installed in the UK and has relationships with all the three energy suppliers.
Northern Powergrid Metering is in a unique position where we can be flexible on funding requirements with no upper or lower limits and can react to changes in projected volumes. The availability of asset financing does not rely upon third party financial organisations.
Our team is formed from both members of our group’s Distribution Network Operator business which covers the North East of England and Yorkshire and asset finance professionals. This has brought together extensive knowledge of Industry systems processes, regulation and operational knowledge.
As an active market participant we are a member of the CMAP (Community of Meter Asset Providers) and provide advice and representation at industry level with both Ofgem and BEIS, most recently looking towards the UK wide roll-out of smart meters.
In creating business processes for the management of metering assets we work in joint collaboration with our customers preferred partners, delivering optimal business solutions with the maximum efficiency.
